A Full Moon in Ritual

Friday June 13, 1919 was the last time the sequence of a Full Moon landed on “Friday 13th, and this time its return is calculated approximately at 5:12am GMT, 12 am EST, 9:12pm PST. From a western astrological view the moon will move into Sagittarius to form a Gemini-Sagittarius axis at about 22 degrees, depending upon the orb lending to an expansion of qualities of higher pursuits to be exercised with this rare occurrence. The next time this will happen will be in the year of 2049.

For a full moon to fall on a Friday the 13th, you need a confluence of three independent conditions – the moon phase (full), the day of the week (Friday), and the day of the month (13th). To get the probability of all three happening, you multiply the probably of each by each other with a rounded off average result givin you roughly.0159 percent. If you take for example, ancient Egypt who regarded the number 13 as the number of immortality, and the connection of who some say Friday was named after Freya, the Norse Goddess of Fertility Love, Beauty & Destiny, you can only imagine the high probable qualities of Power that your Ritual may have today!

Appropriate timing is very important when working with Magic and Ritual. The goal is to perform a rite or ritual at the time when the forces at work in the natural world ” the Moon, the Sun, the Planets, Hours the Zodiac, etc. ” are poised to give assistance to your cause, not work against it. In the case of the Moon, there are thirteen Lunar Cycles per year, each with four phases. The most commonly recognized phase of each Lunar Cycle is the Full Moon ” also called an Esbat ” but the other three phases are also powerful times for rituals to be performed. The best timing for different types of rituals is as follows, along with some other helpful information for each Lunar phase.

Here’s the 2014 Lunar Phase:
